E-mail:

I have over twenty-five years of experience designing and writing computer software and user interfaces for financial and educational programs, graphics toolkits, utilities, databases, multi-player games and more. I take pride in clear and frequent communication and I serve as a guide for my clients who want a job done but don't have time to learn technical details.

WORK EXPERIENCE

12/97 to present

Consultant and programmer. Currently working for several companies doing a variety of projects including project management, Perl and PHP programming, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, and C++. For details see my portfolio (http://www.kmoser.com/portfolio1.shtml).

4/95 to 11/97

Crossover Technologies (now Unplugged Games), New York, NY, Programmer
Programmed Web- and CD-ROM-based multi-player games in Microsoft C++ and FoxPro. On Web-based projects President '96 and Reinventing America, created programs to generate HTML pages and update back-end databases based on users’ input. On Discovery's CD-ROM project Evolution (http://evolution.discovery.com), programmed subsystem to model the earth by simulating continental drift, mountain growth and erosion, fluctuations in temperature and sea level, and natural disasters.

10/92 to 12/94

Prodigy Services Company, White Plains, NY, Programmer/consultant
Programmed and designed educational applications used by Prodigy's two million subscribers, including Square Off (Prodigy's first educational math game) and the Sports Illustrated for Kids Challenge, a multimedia sports trivia game. Also wrote utilities to assist in the development of other Prodigy applications.

8/89 to 1/92

Citibank, N.A., New York, NY, Programmer/consultant
Programmed interactive, operational prototypes and marketing demonstrations of several home banking products, including the Enhanced Telephone and Direct Access. My programs were tested by bank customers, and yielded valuable feedback for designers and programmers. Wrote utilities to edit, convert and print Bitstream and LaserJet fonts, as well as utilities to monitor Novell network processes, thus minimizing downtime and eliminating the need to monitor the network manually.

1/88 to 1/89

Mathias, Hanson, Chin, Inc., New York, NY, Programmer/consultant
Programmed financial simulations and training programs similar to those at Goldman, Sachs & Co. (below). Also wrote a multi-user currency trading simulation for a Novell network.

7/87 to 1/88

Goldman, Sachs & Co., New York, NY, Programmer/consultant
Programmed financial simulations which augmented classroom training for research analysts and securities salespeople. My programs asked the user to recommend a stock based on graphs of several stocks' past performances, tracked how long the user spent researching each stock, graded them on how efficiently they spent their time, and suggested how they might improve their research skills.

6/86 to 6/87

Citibank, N.A., New York, NY, Programmer/consultant
Designed and programmed R:Base and dBase programs on a Banyan LAN to automate data entry, generate reports, and print commitment letters for mortgages applied for in Citibank branches. This automated system significantly reduced the turnaround time for generating mortgage commitment letters and eliminated the high cost of pre-printed forms.

1983 to 1984

BrainBank, Inc., New York, NY, Programmer/consultant
Programmed interactive educational software to teach anatomy, English, and history.
